Our little lima bean

We had our first doctor's appointment yesterday. Something a little more exciting than the deaths of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. :) He gave us some paperwork, did an exam, had bloodwork done, and all that fun stuff. But the most exciting part was seeing the little thing! He assured us that there is only one, it is in the right place, and has a heartbeat. He only turned the screen around so I could see it for just a second, but I did see a little blob, and could see the little flicker of the heart. That was such a relief to both of us to know that all is well and good so far. We only have one picture, and it's hard to see anything, but...

He put as at 7 weeks, 0 days, with a due date of February 11, 2010. Our next appointment will be July 30. Of course, we'll keep you posted. I've found that very few of my pants will button, which depressed me at first since I'm still so early, but I'm just going to embrace it! I'm still feeling tired, and have had a few days now where I'm not feeling so great. No awful days yet, and so far my acupressure bracelet has been working when I needed it.

In other news, we found out that we are moving to Blaine, Washington! Details are still unclear on when exactly we will be going, but probably in around 2-3 months. While we are obviously sad to leave our families, especially with the baby on the way, we are so excited to be leaving Yuma, and to be starting a new adventure with our own new little family. It will only be temporary, and hopefully in 2-3 years we will be able to get back to San Diego.

...and baby makes three!

Today it has been 6 months since we got married. It has gone so fast, and I can't believe that shortly after our one year anniversary we will have our first child! The first month we started trying, I wasn't expecting much. A week after we got back from our Caribbean cruise, I learned that I was late. I took a pregnancy test on Friday, 2 days after I became late, which was negative. I was much more disappointed than I thought I would be. I decided to go to San Diego that next day since Michelle, Cameron and Haydon were in town for the weekend and it would be a nice visit. We decided to take another test on Sunday (even though I was convinced it would be negative) because Michelle was convinced it would be positive. Sure enough, this one was positive! I didn't want to tell Steven over the phone, so I had to wait several hours until I got back to Yuma. I had gotten a bib that says "I love Daddy" on it and I gave it to him when I got home. I think at first he was a little in shock (as was I several hours earlier!) In fact, he made me take another test, just to be sure, than he had to read all the instructions to me step by step to be sure I had done it correctly. After all this was done, we decided it was time to tell the family! Our first doctor's appointment will be on June 25th. As of right now, I am feeling ok. I am much more tired, and enjoy naps on the days I can get them. But other than that, still doing ok!
